Legacy Week

  • Friendship Haven 420 Kenyon Road Fort Dodge United States (map)

Let’s get this party started!

Get ready to honor the past, celebrate the present, and inspire the future during Legacy Week at Friendship Haven! This exciting new festival of events to commemorate our 75th anniversary brings a full week of meaningful moments, joyful gatherings, and community connection across our campus. A formal bell dedication, intergenerational family-centered activities, a grand finale celebration and more, Legacy Week is all about celebrating the people and moments that shape who we are. Whether you're revisiting treasured memories or creating new ones, there's something for everyone to enjoy. Join us as we kick off Legacy Week in true Friendship Haven style — with faith, passion, and purpose!

Wednesday, June 25

4:30 pm - Bell Re-dedication, sponsored by E. John Zuerrer, Reception sponsored by Jim’s Carpet One Floor & Home

The Chapel on the Hill Bell has found a new home on campus and will be re-dedicated in honor of the Rev. Dr. Tompkins on Wednesday, June 25 at 4:30 pm. Once a familiar sound calling people to worship, the bell now stands as a symbol of our shared history and continued mission. Its new setting invokes a sense of continuity — honoring the past while remaining part of our present.

Thursday, June 26

4-7 pm - FH Picnic & Fun Zone, sponsored by First Interstate Bank

The Friendship Haven Picnic & Fun Zone will be held on Thursday, June 26 from 4–7 pm. This special event is not open to the public — it’s for residents, team members, and their families only. We will enjoy a classic picnic meal, inflatables, and games for all ages — a chance to relax, have fun, and spend time together as a community.

Friday, June 27

7-10 pm - Legacy Night, sponsors available in program

Sunday, June 29

9:30 am - Worship Service and Reception, sponsored by Henrietta Van Maanen

Join us in the Tompkins Celebration Center for a special worship service to close out Legacy Week.
