Seasonal Grounds Assistant
Supervised by: Grounds Supervisor
Purpose of the Position
To help maintain a clean, neat, and safe environment with equipment in working order in accordance with the Federal, State, and local regulations that govern Friendship Haven.
Responsibilities
Keeps assigned vehicles clean and in good operational condition.
Completes in-service trainings and CE Solutions courses in a timely manner.
Performs various groundskeeping and maintenance tasks/repairs as requested.
Performs groundskeeping and building maintenance duties
Ability to operate equipment such as: lawn mower, tractor, weed eater, etc.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of a resident centered model of service delivery Support the mission, vision and values of Friendship Haven.
Abide by Friendship Haven Standards of Personal Performance and Code of Ethics.
Ability to work effectively with co-workers in a team environment.
Proficiency in writing and communicating with other team members.
Accountability to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
Ability to deliver excellent customer service and public relations. Ability to be tactful in resolving customer service concerns and situations.
Ability to be flexible with scheduling and assignments.
Work schedule is flexible and dependent on weather conditions
Minimum Requirements
Education: Level of education to communicate effectively.
Valid Driver’s License.
Working in aging related environments experience preferred, but not required.
Seasonal job averaging 40 hours per week - Position available May 1 (possibly sooner depending on applicant and needs of the department) through Labor Day (possibly later depending on applicant and needs of the department.)
Must be 18 years of age.
Physical Demands
Sits, stands, bends, lifts, pushes and moves during work hours.
Willing to work beyond normal working hours, and on weekends and holidays when necessary.
Should be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
Mental Demands
Subject to frequent interruptions.
May be subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, families and visitors.
