Full Time Assisted Living Activities
Purpose of the Position
To provide a broad range of resident centered programs and services to meet the needs of each resident’s social, environmental, and personal interest who reside in Assisted and Independent Living.
Essential Duties:
· Help to plan monthly calendars for activities and outings for residents.
· Measure and monitor resident involvement in leisure event programming.
· Create a fun and innovative life enrichment experience for residents.
· Assists in completing Bio/History and other surveys to learn about interests and hobbies for residents living in Assisted Living.
· Develops effective relationships with residents and learns resident preferences to assist with activity planning.
· Communicates and electronically documents activity program participation in an effective and timely manner. Passes information on to co-workers to provide continuity of services. Collaborate with other team members to ensure that activities are provided at various times.
· Assists in the preparation, shopping and roll out of all activities.
· Promotes spontaneous activities and helps to involve residents and team members of the neighborhood in these activities.
· Promote scheduled events through monthly calendars, word of mouth, News & Do’s, Friendship Haven channel and digital announcement boards.
· Participation in on-campus committees as needed.
· Assists with meals as necessary.
· May accompany residents for personal errands as needed.
· Work with team members and other staff members in a helpful, respectful and courteous manner.
· Responds appropriately to residents’ requests for help and maintain positive relationships with residents’ friends and family members.
· Participate in budget development for yearly programming.
· Attend staff and/or resident meetings along with completing required continuing education.
· Communicate and document in an effective and timely manner and in accordance with the residents’ service plan and within policies and procedures.
· Follow Friendship Haven policy and procedures.

Minimum Requirements
· Education: Level of education to communicate effectively.
· Experience: One year of providing Activities in an organized setting preferred, but not required.
· Valid driver license.
Physical Demands
· Sits, stands, bends, lifts and moves intermittently during work hours.
· Willing to work beyond normal working hours when necessary.
· Should be capable of lifting up to 25 pounds on a regular basis.
Mental Demands
· Subject to frequent interruptions.
· May be subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, families and visitors.
This full time position will be scheduled approximately 80 hours per pay period. Shift will be primarily 9am-5pm, every other weekend and rotating holidays. This may vary based on the need of the resident activities.
