Kenyon Place Dining Service Supervisor - Full time
Purpose of the Position:
Assist in planning, organizing and directing the operations of Kenyon Place Dining and Assisted Living Dining. Including but not limited to dining personnel, budgeting, menu planning, ordering, storage, food preparation, food delivery, presentation and resident satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
· Provide leadership and direction for Kenyon Place food production and dining room service while following facility standards for food quality, customer service and sanitation.
· Understands and implements all sanitation standards and complies with local, federal and state rules and regulations as they pertain to food service in Kenyon Place and Assisted Living.
· Maintains records as outlined in standards, rules and regulations for Kenyon Place and Assisted Living kitchens.
· Assist the Director of Campus Dining with planning menus and related activities for all meals prepared in KP kitchen and served in Assisted Living, working to consistently review current menu offerings and new recipe development.
· Works with Human Resources to recruit, select and train personnel; conduct previews and enforce policies with each employee. Responsible for ensuring staff records are updated and maintained.
· Assist in organization and conduct regular team meetings and education including skills fairs as directed.
· Investigates and resolves food quality and service complaints.
· Provides a positive dining experience and customer service in Kenyon Place and Assisted Living.
· Assigns, supervises and evaluates Kenyon Place dining service personnel, develops a staffing schedule to ensure adequate coverage or delegates these duties to appropriate personnel.
· Embraces and provides service to our residents based on a resident centered model of care.
· Assist in development of the dining service budget and responsible for ensuring budget compliance.
· Attend required staff meetings and complete required continuing education.
· Facilitates Resident Dining Committees in KP and Assisted Living.
· Assist with special events such as funeral lunches, department parties, special evening meals etc., as needed.
· Maintain Kenyon Place resident roster along with completing resident and guest meal counts for month end billing purposes.
· Completes ordering and tracking of groceries and supplies from authorized vendors to ensure successful kitchen operation.
· Responsible for ensuring kitchen equipment remains in good working condition.
· Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

· Have well organized and neat work habits.
· Ability to plan and prioritize multiple demands working within time limits.
· Be SERV Safe certified, CFPP certified or be willing to become certified.

Minimum Requirements:
· Education: Associate’s Degree in Culinary Arts or minimum two years line cooking experience in a restaurant licensed dining environment, preferred fine dining experience.
· Basic cooking knowledge, use of kitchen equipment, and knife skills.
· Knowledge of portions controls, measurements, and the ability to accurately adjust recipes, ingredients, and production quantities to meet needs of dining and banquet service.
· Must complete course required training in sanitation.
· CPR Certified, or the ability to become certified.
Physical Demands:
· Sits, stands, bends, lifts and moves during work hours. Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
· Willing to work beyond normal working hours, and on weekends and holidays when necessary.
Mental Demands:
· Subject to frequent interruptions.
· May be subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, families and visitors.
