Inventory Control Specialist

Supervised by: Director of Campus Support Services

Purpose of the Position:

Under general supervision from the Director of Campus Support Services, performs a variety of duties in receiving, issuing, handling and accounting for supplies for all areas of facility.

Responsibilities:

ยท Receives supplies, materials and equipment; confirms that delivered goods match purchase order specifications of quantity, condition, model number, etc; completes all necessary paperwork for stock items received and forwards to Accounts Payable.

ยท Conducts restock of the storeroom and supply closets based upon computer reports; assists in conducting complete physical inventory count annually.

ยท Organizes and maintains storeroom for efficient material storage and handling and maintains labeling system on each stock item.

ยท Utilizes McKesson Orbits Inventory System to properly account for issues, returns, receipts of new materials and associated backorders; inputs essential data on all materials handled; adheres to strict accounting procedures in this regard.

ยท Perform thorough research and document inventory discrepancies using all available resources to identify root causes and supply possible solutions.

ยท Operates indoor and heavy-duty pallet jack, various carts and other necessary equipment, to properly handle materials being received, issued, stocked and picked.

ยท Oversee and coordinate purchases from across campus including researching best pricing and quality control of items purchased. This also includes processing necessary returns.

ยท Process and deliver resident packages from across campus.

ยท Oversee and maintain a supply of all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for all of campus.

ยท Develop, implement and monitor all functions related to inventory transactions to assure that they are accurate and timely.

ยท Organize and maintain Maintenance Supply Storeroom including auditing, inventorying, ordering and tracking usage of all items in storeroom. Will additionally research, order and process all maintenance orders for items not in our regular maintenance inventory.

ยท Assist in coordinating and maintaining our supply of wheelchairs for Therapy/Simpson Health Center.

ยท Assist in auditing, coordinating and dispersing our supply of hospital-grade mattresses across campus.

ยท Updates all the SDS information on products and distributes to IT for updating FH intranet.

ยท Assists in overseeing the Nurseโ€™s Storage Room for supply inventory

ยท Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

ยท Record-keeping (computerized) and purchase order experience.

ยท Excellent customer service skills.

ยท Must know and implement the importance of confidentiality.

ยท Strong computer proficiency in applications such as MS Office and internet.

ยท Must be reliable and responsible; and must have the ability to work independently with little direct supervision.

Minimum Requirements:

ยท Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent

ยท Experience: General Accounting knowledge. Prior inventory experience is helpful but not required.

Physical Demands:

ยท Sits, stands, bends, lifts and moves during work hours.

ยท The employee must frequently lift and/or move 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

Mental Demands:

ยท Subject to frequent interruptions.

ยท May be subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, families and visitors.
