Purpose of the Position

To provide a variety of resident centered services for residents living in River Ridge Apartments neighborhood and 56 households  These positions will be cross trained to provide housekeeping, dining and other assigned functions.   They are a member of the River Ridge quality team and are assigned as extended family of residents of River Ridge and Gardens assisted living neighborhoods.  The Housekeeper will participate in resident welcome and orientation, assist with meal service for noon and evening meals daily as well as being the point person for coordination and completion of apartment housekeeping assignments.    

Responsibilities

·        Ensure the cleanliness and attractive appearance of the neighborhood

·        Works in cooperation with campus support services as necessary

·        Coordinates housekeeping services and cleaning schedules, completes assigned housekeeping assignments which include but are not limited to vacuuming, dusting, cleaning of toilets, sinks, kitchen areas, empty garbage, individualizing service to meet resident preferences and requests

·        Follows and assures practice of safe food handling and service when completing dining tasks

·        May participate in the preparation and of setting tables prior to the noon and evening meals

·        Participates in distribution and completion of menus and the serving of food by courses

·        Returns to each table after the meal is served to offer any additional assistance or responds to any requests

·        Removes dishes and cleans tables after service is complete

·        Assists in busing dishes back to dish washing area

·        Develops effective relationships with residents and learns resident preferences and individualizes services for each resident

·        Works effectively as part of the River Ridge team accepting responsibility of work related tasks, sharing the work load with other team members

·        Provides superior customer services and corrects any service related concerns

·        Follows Friendship Haven policies and procedures

·        Participates in River Ridge team meetings and offers ideas and input to provide effective and progressive resident centered services and consistent quality improvement

·        Welcomes new residents and participates in orientation upon resident assuming occupancy offers support to new residents as they adjust to their new home

·        Monitors environment in public areas to insure they are attractive and well kept

·        Provides support in Gardens neighborhood for housekeeping and support services as requested

Minimum Requirements

·        Education:  Level of education to communicate effectively.  Must be willing to complete cross training to complete versatile assigned work tasks.

·        Licensure:  none required

·        Experience:  Working in aging related environments, public service, housekeeping or dining environments preferred.

Physical Demands

·        Sits, stands, bends, lifts and moves during work hours.

·        Willing to work beyond normal working hours, and on weekends and holidays when necessary.

·        Ability to lift 40 pounds.

Mental Demands

·        Subject to frequent interruptions.

·        May be subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, families and visitors.
