Full Time Assisted Living Activities

‍ ‍Purpose of the Position

To enhance the quality of life for residents by creating fun, innovative, and meaningful activities that promote engagement, well-being, social connection, and purpose. Build positive relationships with residents, families, team members, and volunteers to support resident centered programming that provides a welcoming, engaging, and inclusive environment.

Essential Duties:

• Help to plan monthly calendars for activities and outings for residents.

• Lead and facilitate assigned programs and activities.

• Set up and clean up activity spaces.

• Prepare materials and supplies.

• Assists residents in attending activities.

• Ensure activities begin and end on schedule.

• May assist in teaching others how to engage residents in activities.

• Measure and monitor resident involvement in life enrichment programming through attendance tracking.

• Assists in completing Resident Bio/History Assessment when new residents move into assisted living.

• Completes resident Leisure Activity Inventory for residents in assisted living.

• Completes documentation in accordance with the resident’s service plan.

• Communicate resident interests, suggestions, and feedback to leadership.

• Develops effective relationships with residents and learns resident preferences to assist with activity planning.

• Effectively communicates information to co-workers, neighborhoods, and leadership to provide continuity of services.

• Collaborate with neighborhoods to ensure that activities are provided at various times.

• Promotes spontaneous activities and helps to involve residents and team members of the neighborhood in these activities.

• Promote scheduled events through various communication channels for residents, families, and staff.

• May support with escorting residents both on and off campus as needed.

• Be able to transport residents for activities or programs off campus.

• Assist volunteers during activities and events.

• Help orient volunteers to assigned activities or tasks.

• Attend resident meetings as requested.

• Scheduled hours may vary based upon program needs.

• Participation in on-campus committees as needed.

• Other duties as assigned by Independent and Assisted Living Life Enrichment Coordinator.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Proficiency in computer usage and related applications.

• Ability to self-initiate with minimal supervision.

• Flexible schedule to meet varying hours and days of planned events.

Minimum Requirements

• Education: Level of education to communicate effectively.

• Experience: One year of providing Activities in an organized setting preferred, but not required.

• CPR Certification, or ability to become certified.

• Valid driver license.

Physical Demands

• Sits, stands, bends, lifts and moves intermittently during work hours.

• Willing to work beyond normal working hours when necessary.

• Should be capable of lifting up to 25 pounds on a regular basis.

Mental Demands

• Subject to frequent interruptions.

• May be subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, families and visitors.
