Scholarship Recipients Announced
Dr. William and Edna Remer Scholarship – The Friendship Haven Memorial Foundation recently granted scholarships from the Dr. William and Edna Remer Scholarship Fund to nine area students. Eligible applicants for this scholarship were college-bound or enrolled students who are entering a medical or social service field for the 2018-2019 school year. Dr. Remer, a long-time Fort Dodge dentist who valued education excellence, along with his wife Edna established this scholarship program, and scholarships have been awarded annually since 1989.
Please join us in congratulating the following individuals who were awarded scholarships:
• Ravyn Armstead is currently employed at Friendship Haven and is a graduate of Eagle Grove High School. Ravyn is pursuing a nursing degree at Iowa Central Community College. Ravyn has been awarded a $700 scholarship.
• Madison Engels is currently pursuing a degree in speech/language pathology from the University of Northern Iowa and was recently awarded a $500 scholarship.
• Alexandra Ewing is attending Iowa Central Community College pursuing a degree in radiology. Alexandra has been awarded a $500 scholarship.
• Kaci Halligan is attending Iowa Central Community College, pursuing a medical lab tech degree. Kaci was awarded a $500 scholarship.
• Kiley Kuhl is employed at Friendship Haven and attending Chamberlin University, pursuing a nursing degree. Kiley has been awarded a $700 scholarship.
• Natalie Martinson is employed at Friendship Haven and is a 2018 graduate of Fort Dodge Senior High. Natalie plans on attending the University of Iowa, majoring in biology. Natalie has been awarded a $700 scholarship.
• Katie McCarville is a Friendship Haven employee attending Iowa Central Community College. Katie plans to further her education at Allen College, pursing a nursing degree. Katie has been awarded a $700 scholarship.
• Shelby Prochaska is employed at Friendship Haven and is attending Iowa Central Community College pursing a degree in radiology. Shelby has been awarded a $500 scholarship.
• Laci Thompson is a Friendship Haven employee and is currently attending Iowa Central Community College. Laci plans on attending Allen College to further her education while pursing a nursing degree. Laci has been awarded a $700 scholarship.
John and Eva Amond Scholarship – The Friendship Haven Memorial Foundation recently granted two scholarships from the John and Eva Amond Scholarship Fund to area students. Eligible applicants for this scholarship were individuals pursuing a degree in the health care field.

• Stacy Rogers is attending Iowa Central Community College, pursing a nursing degree. Stacy was awarded a $700 scholarship.
• MaKenna Carver is a Friendship Haven employee and is attending Iowa Central Community College. She plans to further her education at the University of Iowa, pursuing a degree in radiology. MaKenna has been awarded a $500 scholarship.
Bess Pettycrew Scholarship – The Friendship Haven Memorial Foundation recently granted a scholarship from the Bess Pettycrew Scholarship Fund to an area student. Eligible applicants for this scholarship were individuals who are Fort Dodge Senior High graduates attending a four-year university full time in the fall.

• Taylor Hartley is a 2018 graduate of Fort Dodge Senior High. She plans to attend the University of Iowa, majoring in health and human physiology.
