Living out her “Why”
We are blessed with the best and so grateful our employee team thinks of Friendship Haven as more than just a “job.” Journeys nurse, Sara Hellvig, recently shared her “why,” and we couldn’t be happier for her. Are you thinking about making a career change or looking to work somewhere that is more than just a job? Friendship Haven is hiring across campus. We want to be here to help you seek out your passions, follow your dreams and find your purpose!

Sara’s “WHY” – How many people can say that they look at this diagram and know that their current position encompasses this entire image? I spent my 20’s doing various jobs–most in the Vocation section. I added Profession when I became a nurse, and can truly say that I’m living out my Mission and a Passion as a nurse in the Journeys neighborhood at Friendship Haven. So many times, people in the community (friends, family, etc) say, “I couldn’t do what you do.” I don’t know that I completely understand why I feel good at work–competent, needed, happy… However, when I saw this image, it really clicked because every single aspect applies to what I am doing here, at Friendship Haven. I don’t think that many people can say they are living out their Passion, Mission, Vocation and Profession, but I definitely can and I feel that Friendship Haven offers that to all of us. Our leadership and our culture empowers me, and I am truly grateful for that.
