Mindy Derrig accepted the role as Director of Financial Operations/Controller and returned to campus in August 2019. Her responsibilities include preparing month-end and financial statements as well as the annual budget. Additionally, Derrig oversees accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll. Other tasks include handling the year-end audit and reviewing annual cost reports and tax returns. Since returning, Derrig plans on taking on more responsibilities than she previously held. Eventually, she will be digging deeper into processes and analytics, especially when budget issues arise.
Derrig returns to Friendship Haven after previously holding the position from August 2014 to December 2019. She is a Fort Dodge native and has an impressive professional career in personal and business accounting. Her ability to analyze financials and determine best practices to create a positive balance sheet are just a few of the reasons she is the right person for the positon. Mindy and her husband, Tom, have five children and stay busy raising their family.
