Generations Adult Day Services at Friendship Haven reaches out and brings our passion for purposeful living to the Fort Dodge community. For participants, Generations offers opportunities to discover hidden potential, develop new skills and strengthen old ones, make friends and gain a renewed sense of confidence, connection and purpose. For caregivers or family, we provide a break and cost-effective option. And for all, an opportunity to gain peace of mind.

We take the time to listen and personalize each request of service, responding to what is important to each person and their caregiver. And our flexible scheduling allows caregivers to balance their lives: to work, shop or take care of personal business. Participants may come for partial or full weeks, and our hours run from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Transportation may be available for an additional fee.

Generations supports and involves individuals. We are often told that our participants live life fuller than anyone could have imagined. They look forward to seeing one another each day in our welcoming, home-like atmosphere, sharing relationships that have become worthwhile bonds, and helping each other excel. Our staff becomes extended family, encouraging and supporting in a compassionate way that graces our high level of professionalism.

We serve adults from eighteen into their eighties. Our large community area is the scene of group activities and delicious, nutritious meals, and private rooms provide a place to rest or find privacy when desired. Our varied programming – whether a board game, an outing or picnic, or vespers with our campus chaplain – helps our valued visitors enjoy themselves and fills their days with the joy of purposeful activity.

In keeping with our community-wide wellness mission, we focus on maintaining or improving functional ability, and encouraging participation to each person’s ability and comfort level, whether for daily exercise classes, stimulating mental activities or independent efforts. We also provide personal assistance in bathing and grooming, and nursing services are available.

• Confidence is built through multiple daily life enrichment opportunities. Participants do as many as they wish or are able to, including many offerings on campus
• Daily individual and group visits to our campus Wellness Center are encouraged
• Continental buffet breakfast, family style noon meal and afternoon snack are served each program day
